Why we invested
Removing carbon dioxide from our atmosphere is becoming increasingly necessary to combat the negative effects of climate change. We need carbon capture systems that do not put a massive strain on our electrical grid and are highly cost effective. Verdox's technology is best-in-class for carbon capture on both these dimensions.
Why this work matters
Verdox’s system, developed from cutting edge research at MIT, uses only electricity as an input and requires no waste heat or water. This eliminates the limitations of existing solutions and allows Verdox devices to run entirely on renewable energy. Verdox’s ESA process thereby enables hard-to-decarbonize industries to reach net-zero and provides a path for low-cost, permanent carbon dioxide removal.
