
Juan has more than 15 years of experience building and scaling climate-critical systems at the intersection of mobility, infrastructure, energy, and AI. He has held senior leadership roles at Tesla, Waymo, and Rivian, and co-founded Vammo, Latin America’s first battery-swapping company for electric two-wheelers.
At Tesla, he helped scale the global Supercharger network and charging analytics from the ground up, transforming a nascent network into a scaled, resilient, customer-facing platform with a 300x growth journey across more than 40 countries. At Waymo, he led infrastructure strategy for autonomous ride-hailing, cutting deployment timelines & costs, and accelerating energy procurement. At Rivian, he worked with the Data & AI Products team, embedding next-generation analytics into design, engineering, and manufacturing to improve quality and accelerate product development. As co-founder of Vammo, he raised private capital to build the company into one of the region’s leading EV platforms, delivering affordable, low-carbon mobility at scale.
In addition to his operating career, Juan is an active angel investor and advisor, supporting climate and deep-tech startups in the US, Europe and Latin America.
Juan has a BS and MS in Chemical Engineering with a major in Renewables from Chimie ParisTech in Paris.
Raised in a multicultural family and personally impacted by urban pollution early in life, Juan has long been passionate about decarbonization. He is committed to backing founders who are re-architecting complex systems to drive meaningful climate impact at global scale. Juan lives in San Francisco with his wife and children and still believes he can be one day a professional tennis player.
